Carl Jung autograph letter signed, dated 25 March 1958 shortly before the end of Jung's life, with associated content examining the afterlife, dreams and even UFOs. Addressed to his mentee, psychoanalyst Dr. Rivkah Scharf Kluger, Jung writes on his personal stationery in pencil, translated from German in full:

''Dear Doctor! / Please excuse my writing in pencil. I do not have a pen close to hand! I should have written you a long time ago, but I rarely have the opportunity to do so. So any things need to be taken care of immediately, that my limited strength is not sufficient for all of it. First of all, I want to thank you, that is, your husband and you, for the second shipment of cigars: I like them very much, and I am grateful for another shipment. I must rest a lot, otherwise I cannot sleep. I am able to do only little mental work. I am writing a few biographical notes about my youth. It has caught my interest.

You are not missing anything here by being in the USA. I see as few people as possible, and I am not productive. I am glad not to have to see anybody. People make me tired, and my memory keeps producing ever more holes. It seems that I will reach Station 83 in badly damaged condition. Every now and then, the other side of this phenomenal world sends me very interesting information, but nothing that one would be able to write about. - Note: Acquired characteristics may at times be passed on in inheritance, and reincarnation or something like it may occur as well. This contradicts my previous assumptions, and therefore it sounds very strange, but it appears to be true - based on: dreams.

My 'Modern Myth' came out recently. Several donkeys brayed already, as was to be expected. I am an anachronism.

After a long winter, spring has arrived in Bollingen. As Dr. Schlegel used to say, 'Now the blasted little flowers will be returning.' In connection with the Ufos, a Stuttgart newspaper identified me as the old magician Merlin. Not bad at all! If only they knew why. I wish you all the best. / In patientia vestra habetis animas vestras. / Your faithful / C.G. Jung''.

Two page letter on a single sheet measures 8.125'' x 11.625''. Folds, one spot of foxing and light toning. Overall in very good to near fine condition. Accompanied by Jung's envelope with writing in another hand.
