''Darktown Battery'' mechanical bank, circa 1885. Fully functioning bank works by placing a coin in the pitcher's hand and then moving his head until his batting arm locks in place, then pressing the lever so that the coin is ''pitched'', which the batter misses as it's projected directly into the bank by the catcher. Designed by James H. Bowen and manufactured by J. & E. Stevens & Co., Cromwell, CT. ''Darktown Battery'' appears on the base. Measures 9.75'' long, 7'' tall and 2.75'' wide. Minor paint loss, overall in very good condition.
