Autograph note signed by Lavrenti Beria, secret police chief and censorship officer for the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin. Beria writes in blue crayon at the top of the 8 September 1945 issue of ''Pravda'' newspaper. Issue has the speech delivered by Joseph Stalin following Japan's signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender announcing the end of World War II. Beria writes in Russian, ''Asking you to send me separate off-print of Comrade Stalin's speech. / L. Beria''. Newspaper runs 4pp. and measures 16.5'' x 23.5'' unfolded. Folded in fourths. Some chipping to edges, overall very good.
