Retained copy of a letter from James Dean's agent Jane Deacy to former studio lawyer Ted Kupferman regarding Rogers Brackett. Dated 14 February 1955, shortly before the premiere of ''East of Eden'', Deacy contests hotel bills that Brackett claims Dean owed him, writing, ''Jimmy doesn't feel that he should have to pay the...$450.00 for hotel bills, but he is willing and wants to pay the balance of...$745.00 at the rate of...$100.00 per week, starting March 25, 1955, as that is the date I will receive his first check...'' Dean and Brackett famously had a relationship when Dean was a struggling actor. When Dean secured the role in ''East of Eden'' Brackett decided to sue him. Single sheet measures 8.5'' x 11''. Toning and some chipping, overall very good. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
