Jane Deacy's copy of the letter from Dick Clayton to James Dean, with mention of the ''Rebel Without a Cause'' script. Dated 10 February 1955, Clayton writes in part, ''Talked to Nick Ray and Sidney Sheldon again yesterday. Sidney said he had finished the first draft and the meeting with the big wheels was taking place yesterday afternoon...'' Interestingly, Sheldon is mentioned here as working on the draft for ''Rebel'', directed by Nick Ray. Sheldon would not be credited on the final screenplay. Letter measures 8.5'' x 11''.
