Letter from Warner Brothers to James Dean, exercising its rights to employ Dean for a ''second motion picture'' after ''East of Eden''. Dated 7 October 1954, letter reads in part, ''Dear Mr. Dean: With reference to your contract of employment with us...the term of your employment under said contract is extended for the additional period...during which additional period we shall be entitled to your services in connection with the production of a second motion picture...'' Single page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Near fine condition. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
