Rare Academy Award nomination for the iconic science fiction film ''Alien'', given to director and production designer Roger Christian for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction. During ''Alien'', Christian worked closely with artist H.R. Giger to create the unsettling alien monster, futuristic spaceship, the Space Jockey and alien planets. Nomination measures 10'' x 11.625''. Printed on lustrous paper, with Christian opting to have the nomination in its original state and not permaplaqued. This nomination is a duplicate requested by and given to Christian in the early 1980s. Some abrasions at bottom, mild dampstaining and light wear. Very good condition.
