Reads: ''Dear Lucy and Ed: I'm sorry I haven't had a chance until today to acknowledge your birthday telegram. Thank you for it. It was grand to have Ed here in Washington for even a few days. Give my love to Janis. Affectionately, DE''. Letter measures 6.75'' x 9'' on one page. One minor fold, else fine condition.
