Original 8'' x 10'' movie still from ''London After Midnight'', the famous 1927 lost film starring Lon Chaney which influenced the horror genre for decades afterwards. Although the last known copy of the film was destroyed in a 1965 fire at MGM, a modified version was constructed from film stills, such as this one. Photograph shows Lon Chaney and Henry B. Walthall at a critical point in the film, when the men discover strange goings-on at the Balfour mansion. In addition to his role as Inspector Edward C. Burke (shown here), Chaney also starred as the villainous and creepy ''Man in the Beaver Hat'' in the film. Photo is encapsulated by PSA, identifying it as a Type I photo, from the original negative, developed shortly after the photo was taken. Minor wear at margins, overall in very good condition.
