'Gone With the Wind'' memo from producer David O. Selznick to the film's first director George Cukor. Dated 18 April 1938, memo has ''Estelle Winwood'' in the subject line, who the men are considering for a role in the film. On letterhead from Seznick's company, Selznick International Pictures, Inc., memo reads in part, ''...I understand that she is not looking very well, and if her looks (?) have gone off any I'm afraid she's scarcely the very chic and attractive woman that we want for the part. / DOS''. Memo measures 8.5'' x 5.5''. Fold, else near fine.
