'Gone With the Wind'' memo from producer David O. Selznick to the film's first director George Cukor as well as studio manager Henry Ginsberg. Dated 4 June 1937 on letterhead from his company, Selznick International Pictures, Inc., Selznick writes about forthcoming screen tests to cast the film, ''I think it vital that we get the Mrs. Whitney-Bruce Cabot-Dorothy Jordan tests shot just as quickly as possible so as not to use up more of Mr. Cukor's time...The expense of them, as indeed of all our future 'Gone With The Wind' tests, should be held down if we are not to roll up an enormous item on these tests and because of this have to make cuts and sacrifices in the production of the picture. / DOS''. Memo measures 8.5'' x 11''. Folds, else near fine.
