Stan Laurel typed letter signed with his full name ''Stan Laurel'' on his personal letterhead. Laurel writes to his friend Bill Brown on 12 February 1964 shortly after receiving the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. He writes of it, ''...The screen Actors Guild Award is an honorary affair, Eddie Cantor recd. one for I962. I guess it for being the most handsome guy on the Screen.!!! I was unable to attend the Annual Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, so Danny Kaye again accepted on my behalf & later Dana Andrews & Charlton Heston presented it to me personally...'' Laurel then writes about an obscure silent film he made, ''...The excerpt in 'Fractured Flickers' was from a silent film I made titled 'DR PYCKLE & MR PRIDE' - a travesty on 'Jekyl & Hyde'...My kindest & bestest - As always - [signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page letter measures 6'' x 9''. Folds and slight smudge to signature, else near fine. Accompanied by Laurel's custom-made mailing envelope.
