Poem reads,
"Though the sun may be shining
and the weather is clear
My heart just keeps pineing
I wish you were here
Tho thing's are progressing
And all seems so fine
I'm humbly confessing
I miss Beansie mine
Tho skys are so blue here
I wish you were here dear
My heart should be singing
Instead I'm forlorn
Your absence keeps bringing
Blue thoughts with the dawn
When nighttime distressing
I face with a sigh
No one for caressing
No Beansie is nigh
The thought of returning
Alone in my bed
No vision inspireing
A pillow instead
The thought of it's maddening
Pretty tough on the boy
When you could be gladdening
A heart murmurs joy.
So alone in my bed
I wish I were dead
I'm lonesome and blue
I'm dreaming of you
There's no sleep I fear
I wish you were near
So all alone wishing, dreaming lonesome
dying, sick and sore [dreaming, scheming crossed out]
I want my Beansie, Helen, Blanche
Schonberger, Horowitz Howard and Joan
Those and no more."
