Edward Ruscha's self-published photographic book ''Every Building on the Sunset Strip'' first edition, second printing in scarce original silver foil slipcase. Los Angeles: Edward Ruscha, 1966. This unique work features continuous photography of a two-and-a-half mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard, the same area that was the site of the Sunset Strip curfew riots in the summer of 1966. Book employs an accordion-style binding, with both sides of the street shown and exact corresponding street numbers and names of cross streets accompanying the images. A historical and artistically influential work, as Ruscha was credited with reinventing the artist's book with this publication. Softcover in self-wrappers measures 5.625'' x 7'', housed in original 5.875'' x 7.25'' metallic slipcase. Light sunning and crease to spine of book; light creasing to slipcase, with glued interior edges pulling away. Overall very good plus condition.
