Large 50'' x 35'' poster signed by Warhol, with a flowing river also drawn by him, from Warhol's ''American Indian'' series in 1976. For this series, Warhol painted 18 different portraits of Native American activist Russell Means, one of the leaders of 1973's Wounded Knee Incident. This visually arresting poster features Means in a stylized blue color, resembling a photo negative, against a bright red background. The poster was commissioned by Ace Gallery in Los Angeles, where it was originally obtained, with printing information along bottom: ''c 1976 Ace Gallery, L.A., Calif.'' Measures 50'' x 35''. In very good plus condition with some minimal creasing along edges and a very small .25'' closed tear. Accompanied by copy of original Ace Gallery receipt from May 1977.
