Emmy award for the 1965 documentary of John F. Kennedy entitled ''A Young Man From Boston''. Told through home video and candid photographs, the documentary was lauded as a non-political study of Kennedy's life from boyhood through his last day in Dallas. The documentary is narrated by Joseph Cotten and has original music by the Kingston Trio, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Gordon MacRae. Emmy plaque reads ''1965 Hollywood Area Awards / Station KABC Channel 7 / For / 'A Young Man From Boston' / May 24, 1965''. The gold banner attached to the figurine of the woman holding an atom, representing the convergence of art and science, reads ''The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences''. Emmy was awarded to Allan Jay Friedman, the producer and composer of the documentary, who Jackie Kennedy personally approved for the project and who was later hired by Robert Kennedy to create ''The 1000 Days of JFK''. Measures 5.5'' long x 6.5'' x high x 3'' deep. Some oxidation to gold plated banner and figuring, overall in very good condition.
