Western Union telegram to attend the requiem mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral for Robert F. Kennedy and travel on the funeral train, which was limited to only family and close friends. Dated 5:12 pm EDT on 7 June 1968, telegram reads in part, ''Rush Dlvry by Msgr...Mr and Mrs Jack Spangeburg [sic]...You are invited to attend a requiem mass in memory of Robert Francis Kennedy at St Patricks Catedral [sic] in New York City on Saturday, June 8, 1968 at 10:00 AM...Internment will be at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, at 5:30 PM. You are welcome to travel on the funeral train from New York to Washington...This telegram will admit only the person or persons to whom it is addressed and must be retained and presented for identification whenever it is requested / The Kennedy Family.'' Telegram is on two sheets of Western Union paper, each measuring approximately 8.25'' x 5.5''. Second page is affixed to paper backing, overall very good condition with folds.
