Official press release announcing the acquisition of several pieces by the Kennedy White House as part of the White House Restoration project. Typed press release is dated Sunday, February 26th (1962), from the Office of the Assistant Social Secretary for the Press: ''...Outstanding pieces from the fabulous vermeil collection which was willed to the White House by the late Margaret Thompson Biddle are now on display in several of the rooms which are open to the public...'' Document goes on to itemize each piece, and chronicles the history of the vermeil metalworking process. Runs 2pp. on 2 sheets measuring 8.5'' x 14''. Stapled to upper left to form three packets. First page shows a pencil notation of ''SP'' (Sally Powers) to upper right corner. Very good condition. Originally from the papers of Sally Powers, who served as secretary to White House curator Lorraine Pearce.
