Pair of Egyptology telegrams from the excavation of KV62, King Tut's tomb. Telegrams both originate from the Luxor office, with one addressed to Tottenham at the Department of Public Works in Cairo and the other to ''H. E. the minister Ashghal / Cairo''. Content of the former is hand-dated 1 December 1924 and reads in full, ''Returning Tut card please alter date to 17 if possible stop proceeding to Assouan by steamer / Hazan correspondent / Liberte''. A notation at the bottom reads, ''Please reply 'impossible'. Press Views are for specified dates and cannot be varied''. Second telegram date-stamped 16 January 1924 reads, ''Have yet received no reply concerning visiting Tutankhamun beg you will reply winter palace luxor / Kann''. Scattered notations and stamping. Both telegrams measure 10.25'' x 5.75'' and show toning, else near fine.
