Sterling silver medallion issued in 1972 to commemorate Edward, Duke of Windsor and personally owned by his wife, Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson. Front of medallion depicts Edward in profile with his title and years of living, 1894-1972, engraved around border. Verso depicts the Royal crown. Housed in original maroon 3'' x 3'' John Pinches box, known medalist in London. Measures 1.5'' in diameter. Minor tarnishing, else near fine. From the 1987 Sotheby's ''Jewels of the Duchess of Windsor'' auction held on 3 April 1987 in Geneva.
