Datelined Glen Echo, Maryland, 25 March 1902, letter reads in part, ''...[Dr. H] thinks as we do that it is neither wise nor kind to make conditions for persons to be held at the sacrifice of comfort and safety or possible risk of life...Miss Joyce of the [Washington] Times came directly to me...to find what I was doing. I could not put her off. She is bright and friendly. She wouldn't believe that I had been doing nothing so long...'' Letter runs 6pp. on 2 sheets. Measures 5.25'' x 6.5''. Small hole to top of each page touching a few words, else near fine condition.
