Postcard signed by the 1978 Mt. Everest expedition team. Led by Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler, the team set a record as the first to reach the summit without the aid of supplemental oxygen. Signed by ''R. Messner'', ''P. Habler'' and nine members of the Austrian Everest expedition. The mountaineers spent a great deal of time reaching the summit due to frequent collapsing from the lack of oxygen. Oversize postcard bears cancellation stamp dated 3 January 1978. Measures 8.25'' x 5.75''. Near fine.
