Wooden rocking chair used in the White House by Presidents John F. Kennedy -- whose predilection for rocking chairs was well-known, Lyndon B. Johnson and Dwight Eisenhower. Solid oak chair has a Naugahyde seat and was manufactured by the Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Company. The chair was personally gifted by Lyndon B. Johnson to White House staff photographer George J. Szabo, who worked in the White House from 1956-1980 and whose notarized LOA accompanies the chair. Standard White House inventory tracking plate on bottom of chair reads ''JK-1-5-60''. Chair measures 27'' wide x 33'' long x 39'' high and weighs 41 lbs. Minor nicks and scratches from use, but in overall near fine condition.
