Warren G. Harding typed letter signed as President on 19 September 1921, written on White House stationery. Harding writes about payments due in the amount of $4.60, and apologizes for being ''tardy'': ''My dear Mr. Matheany / I am enclosing you my check herewith for $4.60, to pay for dues on premium notes 3634 and 3535. I am sorry to have been tardy, but I do not recall having seen previous notice. Trusting this will be satisfactory, I am Very sincerely, [signed] Warren G. Harding''. With original transmittal envelope. Letter measures 7'' x 8.75''. Horizontal fold and paperclip impression, otherwise in near fine condition.
