Lot of four items from the Bunker Hill 100-year anniversary in 1875 comprising: (1) Centennial program, which opens with a lengthy poem about the battle by Oliver Wendell Holmes. Heavily illustrated with drawings, maps and portraits including those of Generals Gage, Warren and Howe. Runs 16pp. Measures 7.5" x 10.25". Staining, chipping to edges and detached rear cover. Good; (2) Book titled, "Proceedings of the Bunker Hill Monument Association and Centennial Celebration, June 17 1875", self-published by the Association: Boston: 1875. Runs 216pp. Bound in maroon textured paper boards with gilt lettering and design. Top edge gilt. Measures 6.5" x 9.75". Wear to exterior, bookplate affixed to front pastedown and stamping to fly leaf. Very good; (3) Partially-printed document issued by the Association, inducting one Amos Adams as a member, likely the preacher and patriot Amos Adams, who championed the Revolution. Fragile single-page document measures 11" x 13". Paper loss to right edge, tears and toning. Good; (4) Ribbon issued upon completion of the Bunker Hill Monument in 1843. Delicate ribbon bears an image of the obelisk-shaped monument, which was constructed of granite on Breed's Hill. Measures 3" x 7.5". Toning, pinhole and trimming to top edge. Very good.
