Beautiful Persian Islamic hand-painted manuscript illumination page from the 17th or 18th century. Painting is done with opaque watercolors and contains Islamic/Muslim print on both sides. 4 lines written in elegant black nasta'liq script on front and 25 lines on back. At the time, Persians excelled in illumination art and decorated books with exquisite illustrations such as this. Measures 7'' x 12''. Considerable edgewear, some worm holes and flaking. Colors are still vibrant. Well preserved for age, and in very good condition.
