Partially printed document awards a certificate of merit to Anthony Stemple for his participation in the Battle of Chapultepec during the Mexican-American War. Fillmore signs boldly ''Millard Fillmore'' to bottom right of document measuring 16'' x 9.75''. Accompanied by 7'' x 5'' metal plaque bearing biographical information on Fillmore. Document folds and toning, else near fine.
