President Ronald Reagan typed letter signed on official White House stationery, dated 7 November 1983. Addressed to Miss Sam and Miss Bertha Sisco, letter reads in full: ''I'm glad your predator was finally trapped. I know we have some but only because one of our dogs brought one in after a night's prowl. You asked about other wildlife; well we're evidently on the travel path of a bear -- it shows up periodically. One day one of our Secret Service agents was sitting up on a hill above our house and a mountain lion strolled by. The agent didn't know if that was commonplace or not, so he just sat there. We also have wild cats, now and then coyotes but not too often -- we're at about 2400 feet altitude. Now just writing about it has made me homesick for the ranch and here I am off to Japan and Korea instead.'' Signed ''Ronald'' in black ink. Letter on one page measures 6.75'' x 9'' and includes original postmarked envelope. Near fine.
