Autograph album filled with more than 90 signatures of golf and tennis stars from the 1930's. Half of the signatures are from the 1934 British Open Golf Championship, held at Royal St. Georges in Sandwich, England. These include the winner Henry Cotton as well as third place winner Alf Padgham, also Bert Hodson, golf brothers Reg & Charles Whitcombe, Percy Alliss, William Twine, William Davies, Charlie Ward, James McDowall, Bert Gadd, Jimmy Adams, Alf Perry (1935 winner), Syd Easterbrook, William Laidlaw and Edward Musty. Also signed by Dai Rees, Ted Ray and Byron Nelson. Signatures of tennis stars, likely acquired at 1938 Wimbledon comprise: World No. 1 Bobby Riggs, World No. 1 & Triple Crown winner at Wimbledon that year Don Budge, World No. 1 Bill Tilden, Henry ''Bunny'' Austin, Dorothy Bundy, Kay Stammers, Gottfried von Cramm, Eileen Whittingstall, Ermintrude Harvey, Neil Hopman, Frank Kovacz, George Lyttleton-Rogers, Jack Jossi and Murray Deloford. Also included are the signatures of badminton star Jack Purcell, test cricketer and actor Sir Charles Aubrey Smith, and Bob Hope, whose signature appears on a slip that has been taped to one of the pages. Autograph album is signed throughout on both sides of sheets, peppered with original owner's artwork and notes. Sheets measure 7'' x 4.5''. Bound in black cloth boards with all edges gilt. Very minor warping to boards, wear to edges and toning to endpapers. Most signatures have either 1934 or 1938 written beside them. Very good.
