Sal Mineo autograph letter signed on a color postcard during the height of his career. Addressed to his cousin Nancy Harlowe in New York, Mineo writes in 1955, a few months before he started filming ''Rebel Without a Cause''. On the postcard, stamped 15 February 1955 he writes, ''...I'm still alive and kicking / I feel sorry for the New Yorkers. It reaches 80 [degrees] here...'' He jokingly signs the letter ''Sam Spade'', in honor of the legendary character played by Humphrey Bogart in the 1941 movie ''The Maltese Falcon''. Underneath, he also signs ''Sal''. Postcard features a photograph of ''Seven Palms'', the landmark group of palm trees in Palm Springs, CA. Mineo was murdered in Los Angeles in 1976 at the age of 37. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.5''. Some cracking and creasing. Very good.
