Typed letter signed from The Legation of Sweden to Egypt's Minister of Public Works, regarding a permit issued to a Swedish national to visit the tomb. Such permits were not easy to come by; visitors to the tomb were very strictly regulated by Egypt until the tomb's opening to the public. Letter in French on official Swedish Legation stationery translates in part, ''The Legation of Sweden presents eager civilities to the Minister of Public Works, and has the honor to thank him for his letter dated 12 January, transmitting a license for Miss EIRA HELLBERG to visit the Tomb of Tout-Ankh-Amon. Miss Hellberg desiring her departure back to Luxor the 17th of this month, the legation would be happy if it was possible to the Ministry to change the date on the license...If this was impossible, Miss Hellberg will leave this very evening, and for this reason the legation would be grateful for a response within as short a delay as possible, either in writing or by telephone. Emad el Din Street, Cairo, January 13, 1924. At Ministry of Public Works, Cairo.'' Single-page letter bears the stamp of the Swedish Legation to Cairo. Measures 8.5'' x 10.75''. Pencil notation to upper right and toning, else near fine.
