Vintage 1936 Texas Centennial hat signed by 12 notable figures and by over a dozen additional unidentified public figures. Signatures comprise: Roy Rogers, signed ''Roy'', the first woman senator Hattie W. Caraway, journalist Lowell Thomas, House Speaker Sam Rayburn, baseball star Dizzy Dean, Kentucky Governor and later Senator Happy Chandler, notorious event crasher James Leo Connelly, who signs, ''One Eyed Connelly, anywhere'', Texas Senator Margie E. Neal, Texas Governor James V. Allred, Ohio Congressman Bill Thom, Texas delegate-at-large for the 1940 Democratic National Convention Fannie Campbell Wommack, Texas Congressmen Tomas G. Pollard and Edgar E. Witt, and ''Marion Fare / Texas Queen of Convention'', with over a dozen more, some of which are faded. Cowboy hat is made of white felt toned to a buff color. Made specially for the Texas Centennial, hat features blue and red print design of a mounted equestrian on a rearing horse in front of a Lone Star, labeled ''Texas Centennial / 1836-1936''. Signed all over the hat. Size 7 1/4. Very good condition.
