Pinstriped jacket worn by Academy-Award nominated actor Richard Burton in the 1955 period film ''Prince of Players''. Based on actual events, the film portrays 19th century Shakespearean actor Edwin Booth, played by Burton. Edwin Booth's acting expertise was overshadowed by the murderous exploits of his brother John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Abraham Lincoln. Three-quarter length jacket in the 19th century style bears a label stitched into the inside pocket from Western Costume Co. with Burton's name typed and the size of the jacket as 40R. Near fine.
