William Crook signed book, ''Memories of the White House: The Home Life of Our Presidents From Lincoln to Roosevelt''. Little Brown and Company: Boston: 1911. Signed in black ink ''With all good wishes / W.H. Crook / 1911'' to front free endpaper. Crook was Lincoln's bodyguard and was given the evening off the night he was assassinated. Crook went on to serve under 12 Presidents, from Lincoln to Wilson. Book runs 308pp., measuring 5.5'' x 8.25'' with the hinge splitting and cracking internally along front board. Some minor scuffing and toning, else very good condition overall.
