Confederate Bond for $1000 issued 2 March 1863 and featuring an engraved portrait of Jefferson Davis and a pastoral view of Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the confederacy. The Bond, issued at 8%, has seven coupons along the bottom, each redeemable for $40 worth of interest on a certain date. There were originally eight coupons, but one was cut off. Measures approximately 15" x 12.5". Expected folds, chipping along edges and at creases, and scattered foxing. Very good condition.
