World-famous Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso's hand-drawn sketch, unsigned, on Llyod Sabaudo yacht line stationery. Best known for his signature role as Canio in ''Pagliacci,'' Caruso was also a pioneer in recorded sound, selling a million records at the dawn of the medium. More obscure was his passion for visual art, particularly caricatures, a medium he became quite accomplished at over his lifetime. Likely a friend or acquaintance circa 1917, whimsical portrait depicts a woman with curly hair and big eyes with exaggerated eyelashes posing theatrically. Drawing is done in a brown ink and measures 6.75'' x 10.5''. Matted in white to an overall size of 10.5'' x 14.5''. Toning throughout and minor folds, else very good condition.
