His personal check from Security First National Bank of Los Angeles is dated 21 January 1946 and made out in the amount of $77.81, payable to Anita Colby, who countersigns verso. Colby began her career as a model and was hired by Selznick as Feminine Director of the Selznick Studios, a PR coaching role for studio actresses Jennifer Jones, Ingrid Bergman, Shirley Temple, Dorothy McGuire and Joan Fontaine. The year after this check was signed, Colby starred in noir film ''Brute Force''. Measures 8.25'' x 3.5''. Standard bank cancellations. Near fine.
