Roosevelt's bold blue autograph inscription to the front free endpaper reads ''To Philip Dorf / from / Franklin D Roosevelt''. FDR's account of his first year in office is a first issue, complete with the number 1 on the copyright page, the word ''party'' instead of ''property'' on page x and the word ''willing'' rather than ''unwilling'' on page 162. Runs 300pp. Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering and top edge red. Measures 5.5'' x 7.75''. Dustjacket is absent. Sunning to spine and wear to corners, else near fine.
