Land grant signed by Andrew Jackson in the second year of his presidency. Dated 8 December 1830, deed is engraved ''United States of America'' across the top and bears official paper seal. Vellum document grants John Van Ness of Indiana eighty acres in Palestine, Illinois. Measures 16'' x 9.75''. Foxing and chipping along folds and some spotting across top. Overall in good plus condition with a large signature by Jackson.
