Autograph letter signed by Edward Everett, Harvard president and one of the most famous orators of the 19th century. Undated letter was likely sent during the 1850's-60's. It reads, "Dear Sir, I promised you some time ago a copy of the new edition of my Orations & Addresses, for the Nayland Library. The work has been lately published in two volumes 8vo; & if you will let me know how it can be forwarded, I will have a copy sent to you immediately…Edward Everett". Single-page letter measures 7" x 5.75". Trimmed and mounted to a second sheet to an overall size of 8.25" x 6.5". Light foxing, small amount of paper loss and mounting, overall good to very good condition.
