Margaret Mitchell Typed Letter Signed ''Margaret Mitchell Marsh.'' One page, 7'' x 11'', on her personal letterhead, Atlanta, February 7, 1938, to Miss Esther J. McDermott, Waukegan, Illinois, with the original transmittal envelope. In full: ''I wish sincerely that I could help you out of your predicament and give a copy of the letter which I wrote to Mrs. Joel Chandler a year or so ago, but I cannot do this as I have no copy of it and, of course, cannot recall word for word what I wrote her. I remember that she wrote me lovely letters and I replied with pleasure and appreciation. Even if I had copies, I do not think we could ''put it over on her'' as I have changed typewriters since writing her. I am so sorry I cannot help you in this matter.'' A touch of mild handling wear and with the usual old fold creases, else fine condition.
