Pair of stopwatches used by Steve McQueen onscreen in ''Le Mans'', the 1971 auto race film in which he stars. Twin timer set made by Heuer bears a serial number of 16.8858 engraved to verso along with the Swiss maker's name. Timepieces feature 60-minute dials, labeled in 5 minute increments and are mounted side by side to a metal backing. Virtually identical faces both bear maker's name on the dial but differ with the label that appears over ''Heuer'', with the left one reading, ''Auto-Rallye'' and the right, ''Montecarlo''. Also, a window on the right one counts hours. Fully functioning stopwatch set measures 4.5'' x 2.25'' x 1''. Faint scratching to crystal on the left and cracknig to the second hand's finish on the right. Near fine overall and housed in a royal blue velvet case. Originally obtained from the film's property master, Don Nunley, with a copy of an LOA from him citing the serial number, along with provenance from Bonham's.
