Lot of 10 checks signed by oil billionaire J. Paul Getty. All dated in the 1940's, each check is made out in type, though each signed in ink, ''J. Paul Getty''. The amounts range from $1.40 to $350. Getty was known for his penny-pinching, even negotiating the kidnapping ransom for his grandson. Checks measure 8.25'' x 3'', with standard bank cancellations and filing punch holes. Overall very good to near fine condition.
