The Turtles drum skin used to record their hit single, ''She'd Rather Be With Me'' in 1967 and signed by the drummer. Drum skin by Remo brand is signed in black felt tip ''Johny Barbata'' and hand-inscribed, ''She'd Rather be with ME / The TURTLES / No. 1 Hit Single''. In addition to The Turtles, Barbata drummed for The Sentinals, Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, also serving as a session musician for recordings by Eric Clapton and myriad others. Barbata adds a flourish to his signature, an asterisk beside his name and a handful of musical notes to the skin, all in the same black felt tip used to sign. Measures 14.5'' in diameter. Wear from use, else near fine. With LOA signed by Barbata.
