Charlie Parker's own saxophone. The jazz legend's sax is a legend in its own right, a Buescher True Tone low pitch Aristocrat model. Buescher was responsible for the standardization of the saxophone as an instrument, originally crafting ''high pitch'' and ''low pitch'' models until the company's founder chose one version for the sake of uniformity. Vintage sax bears serial number 265359, indicating it was made circa 1932-1933. Bell is engraved ''The / New / Buescher / Aristocrat / Elkhart - IND - USA''. The company's classic original tuning fork logo is engraved under the thumbrest. Parker's brass sax features mother of pearl keys. Complete instrument includes body, neck, ligature, mouthpiece and even reed. Some tarnishing, else near fine. With video provenance from History Detectives and KCSM.
