The President and First Lady both sign the fly-leaf in black ink with a personal inscription in Lady Bird's hand reading ''For Spurgeon and Sheila Keeny / with our appreciation and warm wishes / Lady Bird Johnson and Lyndon B. Johnson / Christmas 1968''. Book contains 47 presidential speeches along with 10 essays by various authors on the Johnson administration from 1963 to 1968. Runs 506pp. and measures 7'' x 9.25''. Bound in blue cloth boards with original dustjacket. Includes small White House envelope with printed card from the President and Lady Bird addressed to the Keenys. Light surface wear and chipping to jacket. Slight foxing to fly-leaf. Overall very good plus.
