The memo line reads ''Money Order to Geo.F.Getty II / Princeton, N.J.'' George Franklin Getty II was Getty's firstborn of five children and the father of George F. Getty III, who was kidnapped in 1973. Known for his penny-pinching, Getty initially refused to pay ransom in the kidnapping of his grandson, and only acquiesced after the kidnappers mailed his ear to the Getty family.
