Brooklyn Base Ball Club program from the 1889 season. This booklet contains photos and sketches of the team members, with a scorecard filled in at the 31 August 1889 game. Brooklyn played Kansas City at Washington Park, 5th Ave. and 4th St. The Brooklyn team was the Los Angeles Dodgers' predecessor, whose roster comprised O'Brien, Collins, Foutz, Burns, Pinkney, Corkhill, Terry, Clark, Smith and more. Kansas City boasted Long, Hamilton, Burns, Picketty, Stearns, Manning, Donahue, Alford and Swarizel. Includes period advertising and even population statistics about the League host cities. Runs 32pp. and measures 5'' x 6.5''. Toning with very minor chipping to spine and edges of covers; score sheet is penciled-in, else near fine.
