1865 CDV of U.S. General Ulysses S. Grant, shown posing outdoors in uniform along with his wife Julia Dent Grant and their son Jesse at Grant's Civil War headquarters in City Point, Virginia. Sepia photograph was taken by Mathew Brady and later reproduced by E. & H.T. Anthony. With backmark reading, ''Published by E. & H.T. Anthony, 501 Broadway, New York from Photographic Negative in Brady's National Portrait Gallery''. Measures 2.25'' x 4''. Light soiling and paper remnants attached to verso, else near fine.
