James Monroe land grant signed as President. Dated 10 August, 1824, grant bestows just over 85 acres of land in Missouri upon a man named John Crawford of Howard County. Nice, clear ''James Monroe'' signature in black ink at lower right. Countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office, George Graham, and additionally by John Crawford on verso. 1pp. document bears original blindstamped seal affixed to lower left. Measures 12.5'' x 8.5'', with toning, creasing, and light soiling throughout. Very good condition overall.
